Mental health matters in NOLA
Last week, Quartet team members got to spend some quality time with the Greater New Orleans community outside our very own Food Truck in honor of Mental Health Month! Our blue-branded truck visited two large medical centers and gave us an opportunity to meet and greet nearly 200 of our wonderful physician and staff users who take care of the community each and every day.
Our team enjoyed spending time with physicians and staff to discuss how behavioral health impacts the community in the Greater New Orleans. There is a lot of excitement for Quartet’s behavioral health solution in NOLA, particularly the ability to integrate mental health into the primary care setting and improve access for those in need.
Officials from local advocacy groups and social services organizations attended our event to show their support, including leaders from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Orleans Chapter, the Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority, and the New Orleans City Council. Anecdotally, the unique Southern-inspired lunch - marked by poboys, crawfish poutine and fresh iced coffee - was enjoyed by all, and supported our hunch that everyone loves a delicious meal in honor of a worthy cause.
Nationally, mental health impacts 1 in 5 people each year. At the state level, Louisiana scores lowest in the nation for overall population health given a high incidence of chronic physical conditions and concomitant mental health concerns. Through a partnership launched in March, Quartet continues to work with health plan Humana to improve access to care for its Greater New Orleans Medicare Advantage members - an aging population, many of whom live with comorbid mental and physical health conditions.
Quartet facilitates access and promotes an integrated approach to care by connecting patients, primary care physicians, and behavioral health providers within a highly engaged, patient-centric care team. For more information about the Quartet solution and/or our operations in New Orleans, read here.
